Pull the pin
Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire
Squeeze the handle
Sweep the nozzle side to side
Keep a safe distance
Use the extinguisher only if the fire is small and contained
Make sure you have a clear exit behind you
Evacuate if the fire grows or smoke increases
Call emergency services after using the extinguisher
