Pull the pin
Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire
Squeeze the handle
Sweep the nozzle from side to side
Keep a safe exit behind you
Use the correct extinguisher type for the fire
Stop if the fire grows or smoke becomes heavy
Evacuate and call emergency services if needed
