Pull the pin
Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire
Squeeze the handle
Sweep from side to side
Keep a safe exit behind you
Use the extinguisher only if the fire is small and contained
Call emergency services if the fire grows or you cannot control it
Evacuate immediately if smoke or heat becomes dangerous
