Drink small sips of water, oral rehydration solution, or clear fluids often

Take over-the-counter pain relief only as directed and avoid ibuprofen or naproxen if your stomach is upset
Seek medical care if you have severe pain, blood in stool, high fever, signs of dehydration, or diarrhea lasting more than a few days
