Check that the new phone is compatible with Verizon
Make sure the new phone is unlocked if it is not a Verizon phone
Back up your old phone
Power off both phones
Remove the SIM card from the old phone if needed
Insert the SIM card into the new phone if the new phone uses a SIM card
If the new phone uses eSIM, activate it through Verizon
Sign in to the new phone with your Apple ID or Google account if needed
Restore your backup to the new phone
Turn on the new phone and follow the setup steps
Activate the new phone on Verizon through the My Verizon app or Verizon website
If activation does not complete automatically, contact Verizon support
Test calls, texts, and mobile data on the new phone
