Get a VHS player and a DVD recorder or a computer with a video capture device
Connect the VHS player output to the DVD recorder or capture device input using RCA cables or S-Video
Insert the VHS tape into the VHS player
Insert a blank DVD into the DVD recorder if using one
Open the capture software on the computer if using a capture device
Set the input source to the correct video and audio connection
Play the VHS tape and start recording on the DVD recorder or in the capture software
Monitor the recording to make sure the video and audio are working properly
Stop recording when the tape ends
Finalize the DVD if using a DVD recorder
Test the DVD on a DVD player or computer
Label and store the DVD safely
