Wash your hands before touching the blister
Clean the area gently with soap and water
Leave the blister intact if possible
Cover it with a clean, dry bandage or blister pad
Reduce pressure on the toe by wearing roomy shoes
Use moleskin or padding around the blister, not directly on it
If the blister breaks, clean it gently and apply antibiotic ointment if needed
Cover a broken blister with a sterile bandage and change it daily
Keep the area dry and clean
Avoid popping the blister
Seek medical care if there is redness, warmth, pus, worsening pain, fever, or if you have diabetes or poor circulation
