Drink small sips of water, oral rehydration solution, or clear fluids

Use a warm compress or heating pad on your abdomen
Try peppermint tea or ginger tea if tolerated
Take acetaminophen for pain if needed and if safe for you
Avoid ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin if your stomach is upset unless a doctor says otherwise
Consider an over-the-counter anti-diarrheal only if appropriate for your situation and not if you have fever or blood in stool
Wash your hands often to prevent spreading infection
Seek medical care if you have severe pain, dehydration, fever, blood in stool, persistent vomiting, or symptoms lasting more than a few days
