Keep gentle neck movement to avoid stiffness
Avoid heavy lifting, sudden movements, and strenuous activity
Use proper posture and support while sitting and sleeping
Sleep with a supportive pillow that keeps the neck neutral
Return to normal activities gradually as pain improves
See a doctor if pain is severe, symptoms worsen, or you have numbness, weakness, dizziness, or headaches
Seek urgent medical care after a crash or injury if you have trouble breathing, loss of consciousness, or severe neck pain
