How To Trellis Cucumbers?

Choose a sturdy trellis at least 5 to 6 feet tall

Install the trellis before planting or soon after seedlings emerge

Plant cucumbers 12 to 18 inches apart at the base of the trellis

Use loose, well-draining soil with full sun

Water deeply and consistently at the base of the plants

Train vines to the trellis when they are 6 to 8 inches long

Gently tie vines to the trellis with soft plant ties, cloth strips, or garden twine

Guide tendrils onto the trellis as the vines grow

Remove side shoots or excess growth if needed to keep vines organized

Keep fruit supported on the trellis as it develops

Harvest cucumbers regularly to encourage more production

Check ties often and loosen them as stems thicken

Use a trellis with wide openings for easy weaving and harvesting

Mulch around the base to retain moisture and reduce weeds

Prune lower leaves if airflow needs improvement
