Check your keyboard for an Fn Lock key or a key with a lock icon
Press Fn + Esc to toggle Fn Lock on many laptops
Try Fn + Caps Lock if your laptop uses that shortcut
Enter BIOS or UEFI settings during startup
Find the Action Keys Mode, Function Key Behavior, or Hotkey Mode setting
Set it to disable Fn key behavior or enable standard F1-F12 keys
Save changes and restart the laptop
Check your laptop manufacturer’s utility software for keyboard settings
Update the keyboard or system firmware if the option is missing
