Open the Messages app
Tap your profile icon or the three-dot menu
Tap Messages settings
Tap RCS chats or Chat features
Turn off RCS chats or Chat features
If prompted, confirm the change
If you are switching phones, turn off RCS before removing your SIM or changing devices
If RCS stays on, restart your phone and check the setting again
If needed, contact your carrier or messaging app support
