Open your phone’s Settings
Tap Messages or Apps
Find SMS, Text Messages, or Messaging settings
Turn off SMS/MMS or disable the Messages app
Set another app as the default messaging app if needed
Contact your mobile carrier to block SMS on your line
Use your carrier account settings to disable text messaging
Turn on airplane mode to stop all cellular messaging temporarily
Remove or disable the SIM card to stop SMS service
On iPhone, turn off iMessage if you want to stop Apple messaging
On Android, disable the default Messages app or revoke its permissions
