Insert a thin flat tool, pin, or small screwdriver under the locking tab
Lift the tab slightly to release the teeth
Pull the tail back through the head while holding the tab up
If needed, cut the zip tie with scissors, wire cutters, or a knife
For reusable zip ties, press the release tab and slide the tail out
Work slowly to avoid cutting your fingers or damaging nearby items
