Insert a fresh battery if needed
Press the power button to turn on the Zircon stud finder
Place the tool flat against the wall
Calibrate it by holding it still until the indicator shows it is ready
Select the correct mode if your model has multiple modes
Slowly slide the stud finder horizontally across the wall
Watch for the display, lights, or beeps that indicate a stud edge
Mark the first edge location with a pencil
Continue sliding in the same direction until the signal changes back
Mark the second edge location
Find the center point between the two edge marks
Confirm the stud location by scanning again from the opposite direction
Avoid moving too fast while scanning
Keep the tool flush against the wall during use
Repeat the process if you need to locate multiple studs
Turn off the stud finder after use
Remove the battery if storing it for a long time
