Open the Google Play Store on Android or the App Store on iPhone/iPad
Search for YouTube
Tap Update if available
Open YouTube after the update finishes
If no Update button appears, the app is already up to date
On Android, you can also update all apps from the Play Store menu
On iPhone/iPad, make sure automatic app updates are enabled in Settings
If YouTube still has issues, restart your device and check for system updates
