Open Discord and go to the server, channel, or DM where you want to upload the GIF
Click the plus icon next to the message box or drag and drop the GIF into the chat
Select the GIF file from your device
Add an optional message if needed
Click Send or press Enter
To upload a GIF as a file, make sure it is saved on your device
To share a GIF from the internet, copy the GIF link and paste it into the message box
To use a GIF from Discord’s GIF picker, click the GIF button and choose one to send
If the GIF does not play, check that the file is actually a .gif format
If the GIF is too large, reduce the file size or use a smaller GIF
Make sure your Discord app has permission to access your files if you are on mobile or desktop
