Set up the telescope on a stable, level surface

Let the telescope cool to outdoor temperature before observing
Observe from a dark location when possible
Use a star chart or astronomy app to locate objects
Clean the telescope only with proper optical cleaning tools
Cover the telescope and store it in a dry place after use
