Check the package for the expiration date and make sure the wrapper is intact
Wash your hands before opening the condom
Open the package carefully and remove the condom
Find the inner ring and squeeze it together
Insert the inner ring into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go
Push the condom in until the inner ring sits near the cervix and the outer ring stays outside the vagina
Make sure the condom is not twisted
Guide the penis into the condom before any genital contact
Hold the outer ring in place during intercourse if needed
After sex, twist the outer ring to keep semen inside
Gently pull the condom out
Throw it away in the trash, not the toilet
Use a new condom every time you have sex
Do not use a female condom and a male condom at the same time
Use water-based or silicone-based lubricant if needed
Check the condom for tears or damage before use
Use emergency contraception if the condom breaks or slips out and pregnancy is a concern
