Insert a fresh battery into the Zircon stud finder
Turn the device on
Select the correct scan mode if your model has multiple modes
Place the stud finder flat against the wall
Calibrate the device by following the model’s indicator light or sound prompt
Keep the device still until calibration is complete
Slowly slide the stud finder horizontally across the wall
Watch for the signal that indicates an edge or center of a stud
Mark the wall when the stud is detected
Continue scanning from the opposite direction to confirm the stud location
Mark both edges and find the center point
Repeat the scan above and below the marked area to verify the stud runs vertically
Avoid scanning near metal pipes, electrical wiring, or dense objects that may affect readings
Use the deep scan mode if the wall is thicker or has multiple layers
Test the device on a known stud area if readings seem inconsistent
Turn off the stud finder after use
Remove the battery if storing it for a long time
