Remove any visible dirt with a dry paper towel or soft brush
Rinse mushrooms briefly under cold running water
Do not soak mushrooms in water
Gently rub off any remaining dirt with your fingers
Trim off any damaged or dry stem ends
Pat mushrooms dry immediately with a clean towel or paper towel
Use washed mushrooms right away or refrigerate them after drying
