Wrap the belt around your waist over the gi jacket
Center the belt at your stomach or lower back
Cross the ends behind your back
Bring both ends to the front
Make sure both ends are even in length
Place the left end over the right end
Tuck the top end under both layers of the belt at your waist
Pull both ends tight
Cross the ends again with the same side on top
Tuck the top end through the loop to form a square knot
Tighten the knot so it sits flat at the center of your waist
Adjust the ends so they hang evenly
Keep the knot secure and the belt flat around your gi
