Back up any important files from Google Drive or an external drive
Sign out of the Chromebook
Press and hold Esc + Refresh, then press Power
When the recovery screen appears, release the keys
If you want a Powerwash, go to Settings
Select Advanced
Select Reset settings
Select Powerwash
Select Restart
Confirm by selecting Powerwash
Follow the on-screen steps to sign in again
If the Chromebook will not boot normally, use Recovery Mode with a USB or SD card recovery image
