Shake off any loose food particles
Rinse the cheesecloth under cold running water immediately after use
Soak it in warm water with a small amount of mild dish soap
Gently rub the fabric together to loosen residue
Rinse thoroughly until all soap is removed
Wash again by hand if needed for stubborn stains or odors
Boil it briefly in water if extra sanitizing is needed
Machine wash on a gentle cycle only if the label allows it
Avoid bleach unless the cheesecloth is white and bleach-safe
Air dry completely before storing
Store it in a clean, dry place
