Blot up as much urine as possible with clean paper towels or a dry cloth
Press firmly; do not rub
Remove bedding and wash it separately
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle
Lightly spray the stained area until damp, not soaked
Blot again with clean towels
Sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda over the area
Let it sit until completely dry
Vacuum up the baking soda
If odor remains, repeat the vinegar and baking soda process
For stubborn stains, use an enzyme cleaner made for urine
Follow the product instructions and let it dry fully
Place the mattress in a well-ventilated area or use a fan to speed drying
Avoid using heat until the smell is gone
Use a waterproof mattress protector to prevent future stains
