Preheat the oven to 275°F
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs
Pat the ribs dry with paper towels
Rub both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar
Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet or in a roasting pan
Cover tightly with foil
Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender
Remove from the oven and carefully drain excess liquid
Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce
Increase the oven temperature to 425°F
Return the ribs to the oven uncovered
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the sauce is caramelized
Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes
Slice between the bones and serve
