How to Season Ribs?

Pat the ribs dry with paper towels

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs

Apply a thin layer of mustard or oil if desired to help seasoning stick

Mix salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar

Add chili powder, cayenne, or cumin if you want more heat or depth

Rub the seasoning evenly over all sides of the ribs

Press the seasoning into the meat gently

Let the ribs rest for at least 30 minutes

Refrigerate the seasoned ribs for several hours or overnight for stronger flavor

Bring the ribs to room temperature before cooking if desired
