Water only when the soil is completely dry
Check the soil with your finger 2 to 3 inches deep
Water less often in winter
Use a pot with drainage holes
Pour water slowly until it drains out the bottom
Empty any excess water from the saucer
Avoid letting the plant sit in standing water
Water the soil, not the leaves
Reduce watering if the plant is in low light
Increase watering slightly in brighter light or warmer conditions
