Open Gmail on your phone
Sign in with your Google account
Tap the Compose button
Enter the recipient’s phone email address or carrier email gateway
Add a subject line
Type your message
Attach files if needed
Tap Send
To send Gmail notifications to your phone, open Gmail settings
Select your account
Tap Notifications
Turn on notifications
On Android, allow Gmail notifications in phone settings
On iPhone, allow Gmail notifications in phone settings
Make sure Gmail sync is enabled
Check that your phone has internet access
