Burp the baby during and after feeds
Feed smaller amounts more slowly
Pause feeding if the baby starts hiccuping
Keep the baby upright for 20 to 30 minutes after feeding
Check the bottle nipple flow if bottle-feeding
Make sure the latch is good if breastfeeding
Avoid overfeeding
Try a pacifier
Gently rub or pat the baby’s back
Let the hiccups pass on their own
Contact a pediatrician if hiccups are frequent, severe, or affect feeding or breathing
