Remove and clean vent covers
Inspect ducts for dust, debris, and mold
Seal off vents to prevent dust spread
Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter
Brush the inside of accessible duct sections
Clean the blower, coils, and air handler
Replace or clean the air filter
Wipe down vent covers before reinstalling
Check for leaks or damaged ductwork
Restore power and test the system
Schedule professional cleaning if buildup is heavy or mold is present
