2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
8 ounces white American cheese, shredded or cubed
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup diced green chiles
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt to taste
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat
Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute
Slowly whisk in milk until smooth
Cook until slightly thickened
Add white American cheese and Monterey Jack cheese
Stir until melted and smooth
Mix in green chiles, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and salt
Serve warm with tortilla chips, tacos, or vegetables
