How to Blanch Green Beans for Freezing?

Wash the green beans thoroughly

Trim off the stem ends

Cut into desired lengths, if needed

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil

Prepare a bowl of ice water

Add the green beans to the boiling water

Blanch for 2 to 3 minutes

Remove the beans quickly with a slotted spoon or drain them

Immediately transfer the beans to the ice water

Cool for the same amount of time they were blanched

Drain the beans well

Pat dry with a clean towel

Pack into freezer bags or containers

Remove as much air as possible

Label with the date

Freeze immediately
