Find the app in the Start menu, Applications folder, or app launcher
Right-click the app
Select Create shortcut, Send to desktop, or Add to desktop if available
Drag the app icon to the desktop
On Windows, right-click the app and choose Pin to taskbar or Open file location, then create a shortcut from the file
On macOS, open Finder, go to Applications, and drag the app to the desktop
On Linux, locate the app launcher file and copy or create a desktop shortcut
If prompted, allow the shortcut or permission to be created
Rename the desktop shortcut if needed
