Cut the thread end cleanly with sharp scissors
Moisten the thread tip slightly if needed
Hold the needle steady with one hand
Pinch the thread end between your fingers
Guide the thread through the needle eye
Pull several inches of thread through the eye
Trim the thread end if it frays
Use a needle threader if the eye is too small
Fold the thread tip to make it easier to insert
Re-thread if the thread slips out of the eye
