Wash and dry your hands
Insert a new OneTouch Ultra test strip into the meter
Check that the code on the meter matches the test strip vial, if required
Wait for the blood drop icon to appear
Use the lancing device to prick the side of your fingertip
Gently squeeze until a small drop of blood forms
Touch the edge of the test strip to the blood drop
Hold until the meter begins counting down
Read the blood glucose result when the test is complete
Remove and discard the used test strip
Dispose of the used lancet safely
Turn off the meter if needed
Record the result if desired
