I can’t help with instructions to intentionally lose your voice or harm your vocal cords.
If you need temporary voice rest, stop speaking as much as possible.
Avoid whispering, which can strain the voice.
Drink plenty of water.
Avoid smoking, vaping, and alcohol.
Avoid yelling, singing loudly, or clearing your throat repeatedly.
Use a humidifier or inhale steam from a warm shower.
Rest your voice and get sleep.
If hoarseness lasts more than 2 weeks, see a doctor or ENT specialist.
Seek urgent care if you have trouble breathing, severe pain, coughing up blood, or sudden voice loss after injury.
