Start with a square sheet of paper
Fold it in half horizontally, then unfold
Cut or tear the paper into two equal rectangles
Fold each rectangle lengthwise to make long strips
Fold one strip diagonally at one end to form a triangle
Fold the triangle over itself repeatedly until the strip is fully folded into a compact shape
Repeat the same folding pattern with the second strip, but mirror the direction
Place the two folded pieces perpendicular to each other
Tuck the ends of each piece into the pockets of the other piece
Tighten the folds so the star is secure
Flatten the center and adjust the points evenly
