Crack 2 to 3 eggs into a bowl
Add a pinch of salt and pepper
Whisk the eggs until well mixed
Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat
Add a little butter or oil to the pan
Pour the eggs into the pan
Let the eggs cook until the edges set
Gently lift the edges and tilt the pan so uncooked egg flows underneath
Add fillings like cheese, vegetables, or ham if desired
Cook until the omelette is mostly set
Fold the omelette in half
Slide it onto a plate
Serve immediately
