Turn off the stove and let the burners cool completely
Remove the burner grates, caps, and removable parts
Soak removable parts in warm, soapy water
Scrub the parts with a non-abrasive sponge or brush
Use a paste of baking soda and water on stuck-on residue
Wipe the burner surface with a damp cloth
Clean burner holes or ports with a soft brush or toothpick
Rinse all parts with clean water
Dry all parts completely before reassembling
Reinstall the burners and grates
Test the burners to make sure they light properly
