Acclimate the vinyl planks in the room according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Remove baseboards, trim, and any obstacles if needed
Clean the subfloor thoroughly and make sure it is dry, flat, and smooth
Repair cracks, holes, or uneven areas in the subfloor
Remove old flooring if required by the product instructions
Find the center of the room and plan the layout
Dry-fit the planks to check the pattern and cuts
Mark reference lines to keep the installation straight
Cut planks as needed using a utility knife, vinyl cutter, or saw recommended by the manufacturer
Start installing from the center or a straight wall, depending on the product type
Lock together click-lock planks or apply adhesive for glue-down planks
Stagger end joints between rows for a natural look and stability
Use a tapping block or roller if recommended to secure seams
Leave expansion gaps if required by the product instructions
Install the last row by measuring and cutting planks to fit
Reinstall baseboards and trim
Clean the floor after installation
Follow any curing or waiting time before heavy use if adhesive was used
