How To Cook Chayote?

Wash the chayote

Peel the skin if desired

Cut it in half

Remove the seed

Slice or cube the chayote

Boil in salted water for 8 to 12 minutes until tender

Drain well

Sauté in oil or butter with garlic and onion

Season with salt and pepper

Roast at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes with oil and seasoning

Steam for 10 to 15 minutes until tender

Add to soups, stews, or stir-fries

Serve hot
