You cannot truly pause a FaceTime call
Tap Mute to silence your microphone
Turn off your camera to stop video sharing
Put the call on hold by ending it and calling back later
Use Do Not Disturb or Focus to silence notifications during the call
Lock your screen to keep the call active with audio only, if supported
Switch to another app while keeping the call running, if your device allows it
