Turn off the faucet
Cover the aerator with a cloth
Grip the aerator with pliers or use an aerator key
Turn counterclockwise to loosen
Unscrew it by hand once loose
Remove the aerator and any washer or screen
Clean or replace the parts as needed
Reinstall by turning clockwise until snug
