Wash and dry your hands
Look in a mirror if needed
Pull down your lower eyelid with one finger
Look upward
Pinch the contact gently with your thumb and index finger
Slide the contact down to the white of your eye
Remove it carefully
If the contact is stuck, add a few drops of sterile contact lens solution or artificial tears
Blink a few times and try again
If it still will not move, close your eye and massage the eyelid gently
If you cannot remove it, stop and seek help from an eye care professional
Do not use tweezers, fingernails, or sharp objects
If you wear a hard contact, use the same gentle method
If the contact is torn or uncomfortable, remove any remaining pieces carefully
If you have pain, redness, or vision changes, get medical help promptly
