Measure the room and calculate the number of carpet tiles needed
Gather tools and materials
Clean the subfloor thoroughly
Remove baseboards if needed
Repair cracks, holes, or uneven areas in the subfloor
Ensure the subfloor is dry and level
Find the center of the room and snap chalk lines
Dry-lay the tiles to check the layout
Start installing from the center or recommended starting point
Apply adhesive if required by the tile type
Place each tile firmly in position
Align tile edges and patterns carefully
Cut edge tiles to fit using a utility knife and straightedge
Press all tiles down to secure them
Roll the floor with a carpet roller if needed
Reinstall baseboards if removed
Trim any remaining edges for a clean finish
Vacuum the installed carpet tiles
Allow adhesive to cure before heavy use
