Lightly mist the fabric with water using a spray bottle
Use a fabric softener sheet in the dryer (if the item is dryer-safe)
Add 1/2 to 1 dryer sheet per load and dry on low or medium heat
Use dryer balls (wool or rubber) in the dryer
Run the item through a dryer cycle with a slightly damp towel
Rub a metal hanger or a dampened metal utensil lightly over the fabric
Apply a small amount of unscented lotion to your hands, then lightly touch the fabric
Use an anti-static spray labeled for clothing and follow the label instructions
Use a homemade anti-static spray: mix 1 cup water + 1–2 teaspoons fabric softener in a spray bottle, then lightly mist
Wash with liquid fabric softener instead of dryer-only softener (if compatible with the fabric)
Avoid overdrying; remove items while slightly damp and air-dry to finish
Clean the dryer lint filter and check dryer vent airflow to prevent excess static
Use lower heat settings and shorter drying times
For knit or synthetic fabrics, air-dry or hang to dry when possible
Separate synthetic loads from natural-fiber loads in the dryer
If static is from a specific garment, lightly wipe it with a slightly damp microfiber cloth
