Place the inner pot securely in the rice cooker base
Measure rice using the included cup
Rinse rice until the water runs mostly clear (optional but recommended)
Add the rinsed rice to the inner pot
Add water to the level marked for the type of rice (or use the recommended ratio)
Add salt or oil only if desired
If cooking mixed rice, add ingredients as directed (keep total liquid within the max line)
Close the lid firmly
Plug in the rice cooker
Select the correct menu setting if your model has one (white rice, brown rice, quick, etc.)
Press Start (or the equivalent button)
Wait for the cycle to complete and switch to Keep Warm automatically (if available)
Let rice rest on Keep Warm for 5–15 minutes before serving
Fluff rice with a rice paddle to prevent clumping
Unplug the cooker when finished and allow it to cool
Clean the lid, inner pot, and any removable parts according to the manual
Store the rice cooker with the lid slightly ajar to prevent odors (if recommended)
