How To Clean A Mouse Pad?

Check the label for care instructions (machine washable vs. hand-wash only)

Unplug and remove the mouse from the pad (if it’s an electronic/heated model, do not submerge)

Shake out loose debris and lint

Spot-clean stains with a mild dish soap and lukewarm water solution

Use a soft cloth or sponge to gently scrub the stained area

For deeper cleaning, fill a sink or basin with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild detergent

Submerge the mouse pad (only if the label allows) and gently agitate with hands

Let soak for 15–30 minutes

Rinse thoroughly with clean lukewarm water until no soap remains

Remove excess water by gently pressing with a towel (do not wring or twist)

Air-dry flat on a clean towel in a well-ventilated area

Ensure the pad is completely dry before use (especially for stitched edges)

For fabric cloth pads: machine wash only if the label allows, using cold water and mild detergent, then air-dry

For rubber/desk-mat backing: avoid soaking for long periods, use minimal water, and dry flat to prevent warping

For stitched edges: rinse gently and avoid aggressive scrubbing near seams

For stubborn odors: soak in lukewarm water with mild detergent, then rinse well and air-dry fully

Avoid bleach, harsh solvents, fabric softener, and high heat

Do not tumble dry unless the label explicitly allows it
