How To Cook Steak In Air Fryer?

Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes

Pat steak dry with paper towels

Season both sides with salt and pepper (add garlic powder, smoked paprika, or steak seasoning if desired)

Lightly coat steak with oil (or oil the basket)

Place steak in a single layer in the basket, leaving space around it

Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 6–10 minutes total, flipping halfway

Check doneness using a meat thermometer:

Rare: 120–125°F (49–52°C)

Medium-rare: 130–135°F (54–57°C)

Medium: 140–145°F (60–63°C)

Medium-well: 150–155°F (66–68°C)

Well-done: 160°F (71°C)

Remove steak when it’s 5°F (3°C) below target temperature

Rest steak 5 minutes before slicing

For extra crust: air fry 1–2 minutes longer at 425°F (218°C) if needed
